CAMBRIAN SOCIETY'S SOCIAL.
The Cambrian Society's social at Te Wharo was well attended on Saturday, when a delightfully bright programme of instrumental music, part-songs and monologues, arranged by Mr E. R. Rogers, assisted by Mr Denman's banjo party, was much enjoyed. Messrs Barns, Turner, Quanc, and L. Quane gave threa quartettes, "Tho Long Day Close*" being beautifully interpreted. The Misses Irwin, duets, with violin obligate by Miss Hatton, were very sweetly sung. Mr Denman's banjo party contributed two spirited: items. Mrs Caygill gave two monologues and Messrs Barns and Rogers tho duets "Twilight" arid "House-hunting." Roasiter's "ZcaJandia" was finely given, Mr E. R. Rogers taking the solo, and Mrs Caygill, tho Misses Irwin and Mr Barns the chorus, with violin obligate Groat praise was due to Misa> E. Irwin, who, thioughout the evening, played the piano accompaniments, and at ehort notice undertook to play for Mr Denman's party, Miss Pollard, the Society's accompanist, being unavoidably absent. The solos sung were "Echo" and "The Song of the Clock," by Mr E. R. Rogers, "My Dear Love" and "Yonder," by Miss E. Irwin, "Good Morning, Brother Sunshine," and "Donna Rosa," by Miss M. Irwin, "Down Here" and "Sleepy Hollow Time," by Mr W. Mann, and "A. Chip of the Old Block." Mr and Mrs Denman, Miss Williams and Mr Oxley played the accompaniment to the "Welsh National Anthem. Supper was handed Tound and a vote of thanks to the artists moved by the president, Mr T. WHliams, seconded by -the vice-president, Mr R. H. Williams, was carried by acclamation.
