The danger of broken glass on roads was emphasised by a motorist who wrote to the council of the Auckland Automobile Association. "I saw a burnt car," he said, "boing towed down a leading suburban street, and coming along some time later, I found the road for the best part of a quarter of a mile strewn with glass from the broken wind-screen. May I suggest that you impress upon your members and motorists generally, the great favour they would bestow upon others if. before removing a burned or damaged car, they Would see that all broken glass is removed. This mignt lessen cut tyres and punctures, and no doubt cross words too, for thore is nothing to gain by paper-chasing glass maybe for miles." It was decided to refer the matter to the traffic officers of the Auckland City Council.
