WHY NOT A WOMAN?
TO Tns EDITOR OF "THE PKIS3." Sir.-—ln answer to your correspondent "Hurunui" regarding the qua'ineations of the two candidates at. .he coming election. I would hko. to point out that Mr Armstrong did not. it 1 remember rightly, secure a majority in his own end of the electorate) as it. was then constituted. That, of cour?e, is not remarkable, as it is written "that a prophet is not without honour, save in his own country. Hut even if he did secure a majority in the northern end that could scarcely he counted against him. and at the same time count. in favour oi the other Reform aspirant, who in a- recent local election secured last place in a poor field. Secine that the Reform candidates have neon so unsuccessful for years and years, 1 a;n wondering if it would not he wiser to try a woman candidate. As lar as I ean see. a knowledge of politics is rather a detriment than an advantage, nnu as I myself know nothing of political, matters. I feel that I would make an admirable representative, and am sure T could command good attendances at meetings, whore I would stress the necessity of voting against H. K. Holland and Co. "Our present representative is finite like mvseli in matters of political economy, with decided difference in my favour fchat. at a division, he does not knew tha to vote for Holland is to vote against all pood Liberals as well as Reformers. In fact, Mr Editor. I am serious.y thinking of asking both gentlemen to stand down in favour of myself.— Vours,,etc., A WOMAN . Kaikoura, August. 12th, 1920.
