A London message says that Mr Baldwin, who is rivalling Sir J. M. Barrie as the premier pipe-smoker of Great Britain, made interesting remarks when receiving the Freedom of Dundee. He said: "I always found that pipe-smokers , had wisdom, calmness of outlook, and breadth of vision denied to cigarette or cigar smokers. Partly because of my love of the pipe, and partly because of my Scottish ancestry, Lord Haldane always keeps me supplied with tobacco which is labelled, 'Glasgow Presbyterian Mixture.' It is an ndmirnblo tobacco blended by a divine of tho Scottish Church."
