LAWN TENNIS.
SPREYDON CLUB. At tic third annual general meeting of tli« West \Spreydon Tennis and Debating Club, the president reported on behalf of tho oxecutivo that the affairs of tho club in tho past year had been highly satisfactory both from 'a financial and administrative point of view. Two resignations had been received and forty new members had been elected. It was the desiro cf the executive* to express their warm appreciation of the untiring energy of tho honorary secretary, Mr H. A. Wilkins, to whom a large part of the success of the club is entirely duo, and it took tho opportunity of placing that appreciation on record.
A vote of thanks was placed on record in the minutes for tho services rendered by tho retiring president, Mr T. W. Rowe, and on the motion of Mr Munday, seconded by Mr Pavilt, he was unanimously elected an honorary. Jifo member of the-club. A vote of thanks was* also passed on the recommendation of the retiring captain, Mr G. Chambers, to Mr S. Good, and the secretary also to Mr G..A. Blackmoro and Mr Hunter, for tho use of their cars during tie suburban competition. Warm nppreciation of the services rendered by Mr Bernard Barker, honorarv musical director," was expressed by the members and officers of the club for the unselfish manner i*n which ho had given his eervices in organising entertainments. Officers were olected as follows:—President, Mr G A. Gilchrist; vice-presidents. Rev. A H.' No'rris, and Mr G. A. Blackmore; honorary organising secretary Mr H A. Wrkins; honorary treasurer. Mr J. w. Munday; executive, Messrs G. Vwnkhn S. A Good, N. V. Pavift Mr, J V Holmes. Mr* A R. Wilkins, Miss O. A. Morrison, cimmTttee; Messrs S. A'. Good F. Casbolt, Misses E. Hornaby and D. O Connor.
