PERSONAL. .SPECIAL TO ''THE PBESS. ) GREYMOUTH, June 4. Mr P. Cameron, of the railway workshops staff, left this morning for Addington on transfer. Prior to his departure, he was presented by Ins fellow-employees with a watch. Mr J. Hudd, of the Post Qffee. Grevmouth. will leave shortly for Christchurch, where he has accepted a position in the Railway Department.

Mr David Llovdj a well-known resident of Runanga, and formerly an executive member of the. Miners' Union, left this morning for Newcastle, Australia, where he will in future reside. Mr F. L. Turlev, secretary of the West Coast Timber Workers' Union, left this morning for Frankton Junction. Messrs A. F. Drayton and J. I. Royds returned to Christchurch to-day. Mr and Mrs G. T. Moss will return to Christchurch on Saturday. Mrs C. G. Moss will return from Wellington on Saturday. Mrs M. Hopkins will leave on Tuesdav for Wellington. Mr H. T. Armstrong, M.P., is addressing meetings in the Buller electorate in furtherance of the Labour Party's campaign. Miss F. Stokes, of Kumara Junction, i 3 visiting Rangiora. Mr W. T. Trcgurtha, assistant district traffic manager at Christchurch, is visiting Grevmouth. Mr A". Clark, of the railway clerical staff, leaves on Tuesday for Christchurch to take up his now duties.

Mr Michael Twohill died this morn- ) ing at his residence in Brick street, at the age of 63 years. Deceased suffered from miners' phthisis. He leaves a widow, two sons, and one daughter. Mr E. Lock, president of the United Mine Workers' Association, returned from Wellington this afternoon. He will leave for Millerton to-morrow. Mr li. %\ Perhain returned to Hokitika this afternoon. Mr O. Egdcn, of Christchurch, arrived this afternoon on a visit to Greymotith. The wedding was solemnised at All Saints' Church, Hokitika, of Theodore Arthur, youngest son of tho 'la to James and Mrs Lynch, of Beach street, to Martha May Louisa, second daughter' of Mr and Mrs Carl Schroder, of Jolly street. The Rev. Perkins officiated. Miss May Schroder was bridesmaid, and Mr Arthur Duncraft was best man. The happy couple left for Christchurch after the ceremony. Ladies' Hockey, Mawhera won the opening match for the Brooks' Cup against Keefton on the Keefton racecourse. The game was very fast and even. Miss McGrath was responsible for the only goal scored. Casualty. In attempting to board the fire engine when it was travelling at a smart pace, Foreman J. Kennedy missed his footing and fell .heavily, suffering severe bruises and abrasions, necessitating medical attention. Golf. In a match played on the Omoto links between Hokitika and Greymouth, tho visitors won five games, lost two, and ono was drawn. The following were the individual matches, Hokitika players being mentioned first:—Steel won from Mcintosh, 3 up; Adams lost to Parkinson, 5 and 3; Williams and Mirfin, all square; Brodie won from McNaughton, 4 and 3; Mandl won from Hutton, 5 up; Nicholls won from Kitchingham, 1 up; Kane won from Fogarty, 3 up; Teiehelman lost to Thompson, 5 down. Automobile Association. Mr W. F. Harley, secretary of tho Greymouth branch of the Canterbury Automobile Association, received a telegram this morning advising him that the tour of Christchurch members of the Association had been cancelled owing to the inability of several members of the party to visit the Coast at present. In Bankruptcy. John McDonald, miner, of Blackball, has been adjudgedbankrupt.

Sunday Trains,

Advice has been received in Greymouth that tho Railway Department is against tho running of special trains on Sundays in connexion with the holding of football matches.

Main Highways Board. Crs. H. F. Doogan, F. A. Kitchingham, and G. E. Harker will represent the Greymouth Borough Council in a conference to-morrow evening with members of other local bodies and tho representatives of the Main Highways Board with reference to the allocation of revenue from heavy traffic taxes.
