ORCHESTRAL SOCIETY'S CONCERT.
The Christchurclr Orchestral Society's first concert of the 1025 season will be hold in the Choral Hall on Wednesday next. A magnificent programme has been arranged. The Society's' lull orchestra, which now numbers seventy performers, will play the beautiful Svmphony No. 6 (."Jupiter ) (Mozart) in "its entirety, also -the overture •'\nacreon" (Cherubini). a selection from tha opera "Faust" (Gounod), and (he evcr-popii-lar "Spring Song" and "Boating Song (Mendei&sohn). The string sections of the orchestra will also play "Val3o Lcnte (Merikanto) and "Prelude" (Pachulski). The former has been orchestrated and the latter scored for strings by Mr R. A. Home, the Society's president. MiES Jessie King will be the vocalist, and her numbers will include: "In Autumn" (Franz), "The Young Nun" " (Schubert)., "Devotion" (Schumann), "Go Down to Kew in Lilac Time" (Graham Peel), and "Go Not, Happy Day" (Frank Bridso). The accompanist will be Miss Aileen Warren. As the subscribers' list is rapidly filling, intending members, are advised to make early application for membership. The box plan of reserved seats will open at lbs, Bristol on, Monday at 9 a.m.
