POULTRY CLUB.

RECORD SHOW ENTRIES. The weekly meeting of the Christchuroli Poultry, Pigeon, Canary and Cat Club was held last evening, Jfr G. E. Jeffreys presiding: over a large attendance. The secretary reported that the total entries {or the forthcoming show, to be held in King Edward Barracks on 11th, 12th, and 13th inst., amounted to 2693, comprised as follows:—Poultry, 1314; pigeons, 642; canaries, 276; cats, 93; needlework, 134; toy dogs, 108; cookery, 120. The chairman congratulated the club on the record entries received, and stated that they would establish the confidence of the exhibitors in the club. In two or three years, he said, they would probably obtain the 3000 mark, aa iar as entries were concerned.

It was reported that Mr J. W. Green would be unable to judge the pigeon classes at the forthcoming show, and MrT. H.Jones was appointed in his stead. Judges' steward? were appointed in the several classes, and various arrangements were mads in connexion with the ehow. Eighteen new members were elected to the club. A number of special prizes were allotted.
