MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. A meeting of the executive of the Canterbury Football Association was held last evening. Present—Messrs I*. English, president (in tho chair), R. B. Bunt (secretary), K. B. Walker, A. E. Sharman, G. \V. Ba.grie, It. Wood, F. O. Bentlcy, Robb, W • I£. Bassett and I>r. Mark 3. A letter from the New Zealand Football Association stated that it had been decided ti extend tho date of closing of entries for tho Chatham Cup trophy competition till June Ist. Mr Bunt slated that tho entries had been sent in f-om Canterbury. The Otaeo Football Association wrote stating that the proposal to play a. tourney in Dunedin did not appear to be an advantageous one. However, the Otago executive would welcome, a challenge from the Canterbury Association if it could see its way clear to bend a. team to Dunedin, a3 the gate receipts for club matches were not very l-izh, but for anything of a special nature they could be sure of a good gale. An interprovincial match would be well supported. Tho latter was held over for further consideration. Tho Nomads Club's entry for tho Chatham Ctir> competition was received. Mr G. W. Bagrie said that arrangements for the match at Hnglisii Park on June 3rd between the Lancashire and Yorkshire teams were well in hand. In regard to the cycle race to precede the game, Mr Bunt said that forty entries hsd been received, find many of the leading riders would compete. Mr Robb reported that the games put on by the bovs under the jurisdiction of the Schools' Committco wero very loen. In particular ho mentioned the match at Kaiapoi which ended in a draw. He felt quite euro that tho peoplo of Kaiapoi v:ere [surprised by the high standard of football which tho Canterbury boys could play. If Association football was to progress' in Canterbury, it was essential that a spirit of interest and keenness bo fostered in the schools. The report was received. Mr English said that ho had seen a letter in a newspaper to the effect that Association football had been played in Haglev Park on Sunday. He expressed himself on behalf of the association, as knowing-nothing whatever about this matter, which had no connexion with the Association whatsoever, and for which it disdained all responsibility. The chairman said that a vacancy had occurred on the Management Committee owing to the departure to Timaru of Mr H. G. Shouler. Mr W. H. Benson was elected to the position. Following is the draw for next Saturday's matches:— Senior Knock-out Competition, draw for tho first round of the English Cup—Lyttelton v. Technical Old Boys, at Sunnyside; Rangers v. Thistle, at. English Park: St. Albans v. Addington, at St. Albans Pari; Linwood v. Villa, at Lin wood Park. The following teams have byes:—Nomads. Sunnyside. Kaiapoi, and Western. Junior Grade, League Competition—Western v. Rangers, at Spreydon; St. Albans v. Kaiapoi, at Kaiapoi; Thistle r. Y.M.C.A.. at North Park, No. 3. Third Grade —Sumner v. Linwood, at North Park No. 2; St. Albans'v. Technical Old Boys, at Ensor'a road Ko. 1. Fourth Grade—St. Albans v. r%revdon, nt North Park No. 4; Ly'ttelton \\ Technical Old Boys, at Lyttelton. Fifth Grade —Spreydon v. at Spreydon (kick-off 1.15 p.m.); Western v. Mariets, at Ensor's road No. 2; Technical a bye. , Sixth Gjade—Marists v. Western, at English Park (kick-off 1.15 p.m.); St. Michael's v. Technical, at Ensor'a road No. 1 (kick-off 1.15 p.m.). A friendly gam© will be played between.
