LEAGUE FOOTBALL.

•■ . * SATURDAY'S MATCHES. The League football competitions in tha fivo grades will commence on .Saturday with the principal fixtures set down for decision on tho new playing grounds at Monica Park. Tho patrons will be provided with a splendid game to commence the senior championship with—the match between the Hornby and MarisU A teams. An exeollont contest should ensue, sis both teams have been training in earnest. With each club fielding a lienvv forward division the game should be evenly contested. Hornby have improved their team since last season, and as they will be led by an English representative forward, the Blacks are favoured. The Green's will be hard to beat, as their combination, eo successful in previous vears, shcu'd be to their tage. With favourable conditions prevail ing tho fixture will draw a large crowd. On the No. 2 ground nt Monica Park las' season's junior chamrjior.s will meet Lin-' wood, and this should prcdnce n close a'irt cvenly-coiiteotcd fixture. It will be interesting to witness the first appearance of the Waimniri Club .in the first, grade. At Woolston Park; Addinglon meet Woolflon. On Sydenham Park. Sydenham meet Marists B, which game should be closely contested. Each of tho junior games will be of interest. There will' be an earlv game at ei>ch ground, and with a frequent car service patrons will be well catered for.

MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. A meeting of the Executive Committee was held last ovening, Mr T. Kirton presiding over a full attendance of delegates. The meeting of tho Junior Advisory Board reported that the sub-committee appointed would in futuro control the wholo of tie junior football, including any disputes arising out of Ihe junior grade fixtures. Mr J. Clulds was elected as chairman of the junior board and also as the delegate to tho centre executive, and Mr J. Underwood was elected as the secretary to the junior board. It was decided that weighing cards bo issued to all clubs for tho sixth grades, thu weight cards to bo signed by the eligible for tho grade with the weight, date, and signed by the official present. Correspondence was received from the secretary of the New Zealand Council in reference to tho election of tho two delegates from the centre to the Council. It was also stated that the Council had lifted the suspension recommended by the centre \froni a player wlho was suspended some years ago for misconduct at a meeting. The Woolston Club wroto forwarding a list of players and officials. The secretary of tho Linwood Club wrote in reference to players' passes for Monica Park.

It was decided that tho passes would be available at the ticket boxes to each team captain on application to the socretary of the Board at the ticket box each Saturday. The secretary read correspondence in reference to the question of grounds for the season and the action was endorsed. The secretary stated that owing -to the Linwood third grade team and the Marists fifth, grado team having drawn a bye on Saturday, he had suggested.to the secretary of tho Marists Club that their team play at Linwood Park on Saturday next at a time suitable for tho teams. This was endorsed. Mr E. Healey was appointed as official timekeeper for Monica Park for the season, and it was decided that an additional timekeeper be appointed at tho next meeting. The Addington Club was granted l permission to play a fixture against the Pacific Club, of Dunedin, on June 3rd. Ail application for reinstatement from the Sydenham Club for two fourth grade playera and five junior players was granted. It was decided that the referees forward their result cards every Saturday night.
