ADDINGTON MARKET.

FAT CATTLE. The vardin<r tos again a larie one, though not up to the numbers of a- week ago. The respective figures were 565 and 700. Quality was not so good, I hero being fewer wellfinished station cattle, whilst the haraiookinjr stuff was in heavier supply than for some sales. The best of the cows were of a rerv good class, but the tail of the entrv was inclined to bo rough. The sale opciied fairlv briskly for good closa cattle, particularly "for prime sorts of cows ana heifers, hut an casing tendency developed, and over the last half of the sale va.ues were generally down by about 15s a head all round. The hot day no doubt had some effect on the competition for big bodies, and this class, which had held valuea over a number of heavily-supplied yardings, particioated to eomo extent in the deem*. Ihe market for potter cows was prevented from slipoinsr bv tlic operations of buyers of that class. Top price of Iho day was £l7 5s tor a couple of steers sold by McEvedy 1-rcs. (Blvth Downs).
