RIFLE SHOOTING.
—_♦ —r N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING. (srZCIiX TO FBX3S."> WELLINGTON/ April 29. Entries for the 1925 rifle championship meeting, which opens at Trentham on Friday, show a satisfactory increase over those of last year, -which totalled 250. This number is already well exceeded and it is expected that the final total will be about 300. Keen interest is being evinced in the competitions and though the range will not bo open for practice until to-morrow, a number of competitors went into camp to-day. The ammunition'to be used'will be of 1917 mako and as this has proved satisfactory throughout the season, there should be no complaints on this score. Lady Rhodes, wife of the Minister of Defence, has promised to present the prizes on Wednesday next at the conclusion of the meeting.
