MR ERNEST GATES

The death has occurred of Mr Ernest Gates, managing director of Salts, Limited. Saltaire, Bradford, whose mill several prominent Australians visited recently.
The death is reported of Te Kani Pere, eldest son of the late Wi Pere, M.P., at the age of 67 years. He was a follower of all branches of sports and the owner of Mahaki, a New Zealand Cup winner.
