CHRISTCHURCH LADIES' CLUB,

The L.G.XJ. Medal match wa£ played by members of tho Christchurch Ladies' Golf Club at tho Shirley links yesterday afternoon. Tho weather was warm and there was no wind, and eome good cards-were handed in. METHVEN CLUB. The committee of the Methven Golf Club met in the Methven A..and P. Association's rooms.- on Tuesday evening. Present: Messrs D. M. Christie (chair), P. B. Lloyd, E. D. Thomas, A. D. Harris, G. Cookson, G. Waddington and W. A. Hadeti. (secretary). . Correspondence was read from the Hororata, Lake Coleridge, and Geraldine Clubs, quoting dates for return matches and wishing the club success. No reply had been received from the Ashburton Club in regard to fixing dates for return matches. The. Grounds Committee reported that the preens had been cut, but that the fairways were in bad ordgr. After a general discussion, it was decided to apply to. the Racing Club for a full lease, including granng rights for tho racecourse. _ X Bub-committee consist*!!?. Messrs J?. B. Lloyd, A. Baxter, and S. G. Holmes was appointed to interview the Racing Club with reference to the probability of securing a lease of the racecourse on the most favour able terms obtainable. It was uecides to grade up the fairways, and Mr D. W Christie offered the use of tha -iob ' which was received with thanka.
