Tho number cf' entries received by ; the secretary of the Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association lor the annual provincial lawn tennis championships, .to be played at Ewter, is below the number'received last year. Owing to. it being wet list Saturday it ia thought that players forgot' that entries closed the following Monday, and therefore: failed to enter. However, the ■ secretary has left a number of blank epaces on the charts, and he expressed the hop« to a representative cf "The Press"' yesterday that they would be filled.
