THE NURSES' HOME.

TO THK BDITOB OF "THiE PMS3." Sir, —It was gratifying to read that, one of your correspondents lias the wclfaie of the Hospital Nurses at heartwhen he suggests building the Nurses' Home on that dry sunny corner of Haglcy avenue. As your correspondent remarks, it is but a stone's throw from-tho Hospital—and has the great advantage of having no trams passing the building, except on Show Days, and even at these times no night trains —a very big consideration for weary nurses —as indeed they are—as I know from pnst experience. The Hospital Board should ponder deeply on this subject. It is not only for to-day—the time will come when the present Nurses' Homo must ..be used for Hospital patients — ( and T consider it would be a wise action ; to acquire land on' Hagley avenue from : the Manse to St. Asaph stret. A : building could be erected that would .■icommodato all the nurses required for tho nest fifty years at least. Any encroachment on the Park now would only mean further action in tho future, and the Parks are. regarded as the City's-greatest health asset. We . cannot afford to have them gradually used up by unnecessary buildings.—Yours, j etc. ' MOTHER. 1
