Advice has been received by the Dairy Division of the Department of Agriculture that in Australia during January 436,983 boxe3 of butter and 10,317 crates of cheese were graded and that the shipments from Australia to the United Kingdom during January, were 434,303 boxes of butter and 12,7€0 crates of cheese. . The Department is also in receipt of advice which arrived per cable from the Argentine Dairy Association, reading aa folFows:—Shipments during the month of January "were 2500 tons of butter, 2 tons of cheese and 1380 tons of casein. The weather is more favourable.

At the wool sales the markst was firm at the previous day's level, and while prices showed a decline of five to'ten per cent, on the earlier sales last week, an improvement in competition waa noticeable as compared with a week ago. ~.'■„. „i As a, re3ult of the decision that wool offerings shall be reduced fifty .per cent, in order to attempt to restore the confidence of, growers, the wool brokers throughout Australia have decided that on and after February 19th there shall be no further sales until Adelaide on March 6th.
