ATJCKLAND, February 16.
Lord Somcrleyton, P.C., K.C.V.0., and Lady Somerleyton, of Somerleyton Hall v Lowestoft, England, reached Auckland by the Makura after a short stay in Australia. Before taking liis scat' in the House of Lords, Lord Somcrleyton Was a member of the House of Commons for 14 years, representing in the Liberal-Unionist interest North Suffolk and Halifax. Lord Somerleyton served with distinction in tho South African War. He wa a chairman of the Liberal Unionist Council under Mr Chamberlain utftil the amalgamation of the Liberal-Unionists , and Conservatives. He was formerly chairman of J. Crosslcy and Sons, Ltd., Halifax, and was honorary secretary of King Edward's HOspit&l Fund. With Lady Somerleyton he will leave the Dominion next April, returning to England via tho Panama Canal. LOrd and Lady Belpcr, of Nottinghamshire, arrived by the Makura from Australia. "While in New Zealand, Lord Belpcr will do some dcep-sca and trout fishing, and will later visit the South Island for the deer stalking. Lord and Lady Belpcr will leavei Auckland by the Aorangi on May 1-th.
