TRAMS AND CARS ON SUNDAYS
From time to time tic question of noisy vehicles passing city churches during Service hotirii oil Sundays, and disturbing the devotions of congregations has been brought up. Trams, motorcars, and aeroplanes have, occasionally, Veen referred to as causing a nuisance in this respect. At last njgllt's meeting Of the Council of Christian Congregations, a letter referring to the matter was received from tho Board of Management of St. Paul's Presbytorian , Church, alluding particularly to trams ahd motor-cars. The letter stated that if an appeal was made by the Council to the conductors of trams and owners of ears to minimise the noise when passing Churches during service, it might have much more effect than a request from a Single congregation. It Was decided to write to tho Tramway Board and the Automobile Association requesting thom to ask those in charge of vehicles to pass the churched as quietly as possible.
