RIFLE SHOOTING.
CHRISTCHURCH V. RANGIORA. The Christcharch Defence Bifle Club fired their first match against Rangiora, at Bangiora, on Saturday. The conditions were very tricky and had most of the riflemen thinking hard.. The conditions were 7 shots at 300 yards, and 10 shots at 500 yards. The visitors secured a good lead at the opening range, and ran out easy winners by. 40 points. Scores:— CHRISTCHURCH.
NORTH' CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION.
The Executive Committee of the North Canterbury Rifle Association met on Saturday, the president (Mr D. W. L. Mehrtens) presiding. Apologies -fcr absence were received from Messrs H. Mcintosh and J. Bryden.
It was decided that the annual prize nieetjpg should be held on the Rangiora range on Easter Monday, the programme to consist of one service match, three aperture matches, two aggregate matches, one tyro aggregate match, and a teams match. The prize list is based on an entry of 35 competitors and will be an improvement upoa last year's programme.
The election of range officers was left to. the president and secretary. A motion of appreciation of the generous support given in the way of trophies was carried unanimously.
