DRAINAGE EXTENSION.
■ ♦ CONTRACT TO CO-OPERATIVE PARTY. o _____ The second contract tq be let to a co-operative party of workmen by the Drainage Board in connexion with the extension of the drainage system was signed up on Saturday morniftg. The contract is" for the No. 24 Rising Main (Addington-Riccarton), and the work to be done is the excavation and re-filling only for 132 chains of trench for 15-inch concrete rising main, and the excavation, laying, etc., of four chains of 15-inch cast-iron main. The successful tenderers were a co-opera-tive party of night workmen, under the leadership of W. S. Kingston, and the contract price is £3OBO 18s. The men comprising the party have been engaged as wages men on one of the other sections of the drainage extension works. The contract time for the completion of the work is five months from the date of signing the contract.
