FIRES.
A SUSPICIOUS SERIES. (rKESS ASSOCIATION TELEGBAMS.) BLENHEIM, February 7. On Tuesday afternoon a four-roomed -cottr-go on Mr R. F. Coulter's etation", Timara, was burnt down. Tho following morning two oaten, stacks,' valued at about £l5O, went up in smoke. Tho next afternoon a tall pine tree near the dwelling was discovered to be oh fire. Capping the lot, "Sevenoaks," the ten-roomed homestead of >Mr H. 0. Goulter-, in tho saroo locality, was tot-ai-ly destroyed. When the latter outbreak occurred the family was at lunch. It started in an unoccupied room at the rear of the house. Only a small quantity of furniture and personal effects was saved. A -bucket brigade saved tho garage and- a cottage at,the rear. A big Daimler car wa3 also saved.' The- insuranco on tho homestead was £9OO, and thcro was a cover of £720 on the furniture..
