Paul Williams, secretary of tho United States Tennis Association, Bays the Association has approved the visit of an American team to Australia. . '■ During the executive meeting to-day other measures approved were the play-writer and a preposal that the American Davis Cup team must be liamed at least twenty-one days -before the challenge round. It mil be remembered that Tilden, following the Davis Cup Doubles in 1923, had protected against the practice of naming the Doubles team so late that the p.ayers were unable to obtain the requisite practice together, thus Hawkes and Anderson very nearly euc'oeeded in overcoming Tilden and Johnston. ~. , ' The Davis Cnp datefc fixed are: lirter-Zone Finals, September.,3rd, 4th an<i 'sth at Losgwood Cricket Ground, Boston. Challenge Bound-September 10th, 11th and 12tli, at the Gcraantown Cricket Club s Ground, Philadelphia. • , , National Singles—September 14th. to 19th. Thu» the National Singles occur after the Challenge Bound in order to enable fo™ l ?* players to participate unhampered by feaxs that they may tire themselves and hinder their chances in the important Davis Gqp matches.
