Australia beat England in the First Test by 193 runs. World Peace. It is reported that Viscount Cecil is to undertake a mission to the United Statis to ascertain under what conditions she would aid the European arrangements to guarantee peace. Full Amends. The Foreign Office intends to press its demands on Mexico for full amends for the murder of Mrs Evans. The Year's Trad*. Though the fervent hopes of a large section of British industry were not fulfilled, 1924 saw a general improvement of the world's economic conditions. The Balkans. It is reported that the Albanian revolutionaries have occupied Tirana. Shipping Dispute. It is generally believed that there will be no conccrtod action on the part of the shipowners unless their hands are forced by extreme union action.
