SAVOY HAVANA BAND.

OPENING FRIDAY AFTERNOON. Commencing at the matinco on Boxing Day for a osteon of eight nights and four matinees, a company of super-vauderillo ;from the leading J. C. Williamson theatres) will inaugurate a holiday season. The company is headed by two famous acts, via., Bert Raltam'B Savoy Havana Band and Bert Errol, England's foremost female impersonator. One critie says: "London's loss is N"ow Zealand's gain, for Bert Ralton's Havana Band (from the Savoy Hotel, London), which heads the new company, is London's most popular jaw band, and is also tho favourite dance band of the Prince of Wales. The Hanna Band is. probably (per medium of the gramophone) the beat known band in tho world, for few homes aro without pome of their jazs records. Bert Ralton is recognised in tho musical world as tho most truly musical of all dance leaders. Hia orchestra has reached a wonderful level of excellence, and has carved out a. position in the world of music in tho lighter vein, which no other organisation of its kind has yet occupied. When the Savoy Havana Band plays, we hear syncopated melodies rendered with beaut) - o: tone, and a really musical sense. Another attraction with the company is the first appearance (direct from London) of England's famous impersonator, Bert Errol, presenting "Modes and Melodies of 1924." *He is associated! in ft delightful act with Ray Hartley, dancer (who is Mrs Bert Errol), and Reg- fowler at the piano. Bert Errol's act is one of the most popular of London's recent successes. A clever comedienne with a big English reputation is Marie Kendall, whose name is a household word with English theatregoers. One critic says: "She is ft wonderful person, a brilliant artist, and one of the most popular women on tho 6tagc." Also from London, conies Mr Hymack. with his popular sketch, "A Bogey Villa." From tho timo Hymack comes on the stage "things axe not what they seem." This act is full of ludicrous surprises. From the- Coliseum, London, are Isolde and Alexis, billed us this year's dancing sensation'. They present Russian, apache, French, Ballroom and acrobatic dances. London's popular soldier conjuror is Cfcrdini, who deals a h»nd foil of mystifying card manipulations. Hal Scott anrt Connie Graham stage a humorous eketch, "The Adventures of Sam and Liz." The box plans for tho season are at The Bristol. The plans for the two performances on Friday (Boxing Day) »nd on Saturday will be on view on those days at the Theatre Royal Confectionery, where day sale tickets will also be obtainable.
