Bcay (Christchurch), who graduated at Dunc'dih, has just been successful in passing the qualifying examination for the F.E.C.S.,'Edinburgh. Dr. Reay is now resident medical officer at the London Temperance Hospital, Hampstead* road. Mr J. A. Harvey (Christ's College, New Zealand University, and St. John's College, Cambridge) has been assigned aa Eastern eadetship in the Colonial Service. It is announced that the British Museum ha 3 accepted from His Master 's Voice Gramophone Company the offer of a matrix of a record made by Mr W. F. Massey, at Hayes, Middlesex, when he was last in England. The subject chosen by the New Zealand Prime Minister was an address on th* British Empire. It is interesting to mention' that among twenty-seven matrices-previously presented to theBritish Museum by the company for preservation are records of the voices of the Kiug and Queen, the Prince of Wales, the Archbishop of Canterbury, Cardinal Bourne, Mr Winston Churchill, Mr Asquith, Mr Lloyd George, Mr dynes, Monsieur Venizelos, Mr Lewis Waller, Sir Herbert Tree, Lord Boberts, Lord Kelvin, Lord Avebury, Commander Peary, Sir Ernest Shaekleton, Count Tolstoi, Tetrazzini, Adelina Patti, Caruso, and Melba. Each copper matrix is packed in an air-tight brass case, and no case is to be opened for fifty years after the death of ■ the individual whose voice is recorded on it. It was officially gazetted on Tuesday that Captain A.' B. W. Curtis, M.C.. 11th Hussars (Militia), relinquishes his commission (November Bth), and retains the rank of captain. Captain Curtis is the private secretary to the Admiral of the Fleet the Bt. Hon. the Viscount Jellicoe, G.C.B. Mr Harry Chad wick (formerly manager of the Fuller Opera Honse, Christ(.•hurch), and now manager of Olympia, Newcastle-on-Tyne, was one of the guests invited by the Lord Mayor of Newcastle to the civic dinner given in honour of the All Blacks. During the time the footballers were in the comity New Zealand films were shown to big audiences at Olympia; they all went splendidly, and the people wen most enthusiastic During the showing of the films, Mr Chadwick lectured in a popular strain, fchns adding considerable interest to the jictures thenißßJiyes._
