Sir, —In response to Dr. Levinge'a enquiry in your correspondence column of to-day, I think I can throw gome light on tiio subject of the Empire's Victoria "Memorial in front of Buckingham Palace, having very recently beer a visitor to our Homeland. The Dominion of New Zealand. I can state, is well and worthily represented hy a distinct group of statuai-v situated on the 'south-oast corner • ( facing the P;ilaco gates) of the central cluster of sculpture of the memorial. Tlie Dominion's portion, consists of a lion being docilely led by a man of colossal and dignified proportions accompanied by a simple figure of.a.girl leading a small domestic animal —a lrjnh, if my memory serves mo aright. To tho ordinary observer, unversed, like myself, in works of art, this separate group of tho rsew Zealand contribution is most, arrestirp and impressive, and. further, it occupies one of the best positions in this great collective memorial of our nolilo Queen Victoria.
