CHRISTCHURCH GUN CLUB.

Ur.der very favourable weather conditions, the Christchurch Gun Club held its annua] Christmas shoots. It was 4he final meeting of the season, and there were 29 shooters present, and a good attendance, of spectator*. The shooting was excellent, and daring the afternoon there were no fewer than fourteen possibles recorded. E. Hammond and A. Kerr each broke 26 in succession, A. N. Turner made a run of 24, and L. Kerr 23. The aggregates in the matches and ehoot-offs, from various distances are interesting. A. .Kimber broke 26 out oi 28. E. Hammond 48 out of 52 E. S. Taylor 33 out of 36. A. N. Turner 46 out of 52. L. Keir 39 out of 45, and A. Kerr 45 out of "52. These are the' best six performances, but there were a number of others not far behind. The prizes consisted of hams, ducks, geape, cakes, and wine. The following are the leading scores in the matches: No. 1 match—9 clay birds: Possibles were mads by R. Arnst, R. S. Taylor L. A. Shand and W. R. Heney. The following each brcike eight birds:—L. Moffat, E. Hammond, D. HacGregor, F. Truscott, T. Potts, A. Kimber, W. Donald. After shooting off the prizes were secured by R. Arnst 1, R. S. Taylor 2, h. A. Shand 3, W. Heney 4, and E. Hammond 5. No. 2 match—9 clay birds: Possibles were secured by G. Nairn, L. Kerr, J. J. Matthews, E. Hammond. The following each broke eight:—A. N. Turner, P. Truscott and A. Kimber. After shorting off prizes were secured by G. ,Nairn 1. El Hammond 2, L. Kerr 3, J. J. Matthews 4, and A. Kimber 5. No. 3 match—9 clay bird*: Possibles were broken by R. S. Taylor and A. Kimber. One miss was recorded against J. J. Matthews, E. Hammond, J. Simpson, T. Potts and J. Potts. Prizes were secured by A. Kimber 1, R. S. Taylor 2, E. Hammond 3, J. J. Matthews 4, J. Simpson 5. No. i ma.tch—9 clay birds: A. Kerr, J. J. Matthews and A. N. Turner each broke the Twssible, while D. MacGregor, F. Truscott,' T. Potts and W. Donald each missed one bird. The shoot-off carried on for a further sixteen birds, and the final position resulted: A. Kerr 1, A. N. Turner 2, J. J. Matthews 3, D.
