Borne reports that tho Pope is suffering from a slight attack of influenza. The Duke and Duchess of York have arrived at Mombasa. London reports that no newspapers are publishing on Christmas Day or Boxing Day. The Privy Council has granted special leave to appeail in the case Palmer versus Carey*. The death is announced in Melbourne of Mr J. W. Billson, a member of the Legislative Assembly, and formerly deputy-leader of the Victoriali Labour Party. Sir William Sefton Brancker, British Director of Civil Aviation, who is inspecting the London-India air Toutes, has arrived at Bagdad. Sir William expressed the opinion that there were only 80 miles of difficult flying country between London and Bagdad. Paris reports that 'a city Court, in giving judgment in a ease involving the sale of eggs, laid down three categories ; newlv laid, or eating, which must be sold within a fortnight of bping laid in the summer months, winter fresh eggs, which have undergone any treatment and are usable jn the kitchen, and preserved eggs, which must be so labelled.
