The report of tho Royal Commission enquiring into conditions at the Kew Asylum (Melbourne) states generally that Dr. Ellery was not guilty of cruelty, nor of maladministration; but that certain attendants gave wilfully false evidence in an effort to injure hiin. After exonerating Dr. Ellery, the report concludes that tho primary cause of all tho difficulty was overcrowding. An hour and a-half a day is to be net apart for individual study in Ontario achools, and homework is to be considerably cut down. Dr. P. W.
