, TO. TEE EDITOR Or "THT. FBESS." Sir.—l have been wondering who can be responsible for the disgraceful state of Chancery Lane. I have almost sprained an ankle several times in the drv weather when this thoroughfare Li full of pot-holes, and have been almost drowned in the wet weather. (.Seeing such a disgraceful condition rishtin the centre of such a city as Christchurch one can hardly credit that we have officials' to look after these things. If I sprain an ankle or break a I shall certainly ask the City Council to pay my doctor's bill and other expenses.—Yours, etc., GRANDMOTHER.
