SUNDAY SCHOOL UNION.

The hi-monthly meeting' of the Christchurch Presbyterian Sunday School Union was held in the Linwood Church last week, when there was only a fair representation of teachers from the various town and suburban Sunday Schools. The speaker for the evening was the iiev. Bickeretaff, who chose as his and the Surrounding Nations. He dealt with it in a no«t interesting manner, showing that, for us size and population, tlie wonderful influence "the land of Palestine had on the world. Though a very rich country it had the great drawback of being exposed to, the attacks of other nations and for this reason there was always the necessity of making treaties with the stronger nations —Assyria, Babylon, and ligypt.
