Saturday last was the sixty-third anniversary of the opening of the head office of the Bank of New Zealand in Auckland. The baak was incorporated' by an Act of Parliament, with a capital of £500,000. The board of directors at the time comprised : Mr James Williamson (president), Dr. (afterwards Sir) John Logan Campbell, the Hon. AVxr m .?f Henderson, Messrs James ONeill, Thomas Russell, and Charles J. Taylor M.G.A., and Mr George B. Owen. Mr Ax6x&ndor Kfiiuiddy wbs general manager and inspector, and the auditors were Messrs Samuel Browning ana \v. C. Daldy. Business was commenced on October 16th, 1861.
