COLLEGE HOUSE
FAREWELL SUPPER. The ten members of College House who are leaving at the end of this year were the guests of the rest of the House at the annual farewell supper which took place on Saturday, night. Mr S. A. Bennett presided. The evening was, as usual, one of considerable mirth and jollity, and many of the speeches were very amusing. At the close of the evening cheers were called for the present and' future heads of the House. The following toasts were honoured: •'The King," the chairman; "The House" (Mr L- E. Palmer: —Mr E. A. Osmers); "Our. Guests—the Members Leaving" (Mr R. Newcombe —Messrs E. A. Osmers, H. M. Cocks, H. F. Aulfc, P, D. Hall, J. Earl,. A. G. Harris, J. 0. Graham, A. M. Spenser I). B. Sangsier, B. T. Wyn Irwin); "The Army" (Mr J. Brodiie—Sergeant R. T. Ward and Corporal G. A. Biuck); "Past Men" (Mr G. R. Dart—Messrs M. J. Burns, H. E. Dyer', I. T. Chesson, and A H. Jecks); "The Teams" (Mr H. F. Ault—Messrs J. Earl, A. M. Spenser, S. R. Watson); "The Ladies" (Mr F W. Went worth Rhodes—Messrs ,W. B". T. Leek and L. P. Chapman). During the evening several musical items were given as follows: —Mr W. M. Te Awarau (vocal solos), Mr M. J. Burns (vocal solos), Mr R. J. Fowler (vocal solo), Mr A. B. Hobbs (vocal solo), Mr B. T. Wyn Irwin (pianoforte solos), Mr C. E. Hyde (vocal solos), Messrs R. Waikari, W. M. Te Awarau, J. Karauria and R. J. Fowler (quartette). The House "colours 5 ' were announced during the evening. The following members were awarded them:— Football —Messrs S. A. Bennett, J. Biodie, J. Earl, E. A. osilvers, J. T. Shaw, W. M. Te Awarau, S. R. Watson and H. J. Williams. Swimming—Messrs S. R. Watson, A. Brodie, and D. Carr. ~-»*• Tennis—Messrs R. P. Fish and A. M. Spenser.
