"J" grade October-December shipments quoted at the beginning of week at £SB 10S and value, now quoted.at £56 sellers. Output of Manila, .during ' September was 1,149,000 hales, against 1,116,000 bales for same period last year. Stoqks in Manila on September 30th were 121,000 bales, against 190,000. Stocks ! in Great Britain were 5631, against 18,596. | New Zealand market quiet but steady. Highpoints October-December shipments quoted at £45. Fair, £43 10s and value. TALLOW. Market very firm and strong demand at auction. Present .quotations are:—Mutton: Fine, 49s to 49s 6d per cwt; fair to good, 47s to 48s 6d per cwt; dark to Sail, 44s to 465. per cwt. Beef: Sweet andi-or mixed, 49s to 49s 9d per cwt; . fair to good, 46s to 48s 6d per cwt; dark to dull, 43s to 45s per cwt. Mixed: Fair to good, 46s to 48s per cwt; dark to dull, 423 6d to 44b 6d per cwt. Gnt, etc., 40s to 44s 6d per cwt. PEAS. Blue. Improved demand for imported. "A" grade Tasmanian has been sold for shipment at £2O c.i.f. Maple "A" gTade Tasmankji quoted at 72s 6d to 75s 6d per quarter, c.i.f., October-November shipment. No. 1 New Zealand Partridge, new crop, has been sold at 72s 6d per quarter c.i.f.; old crop slow sales at 65s to 70s. ex store. BEANS. ■ Little enquiry for imported. English Win- ' ter selling at 52s to 56a per quarter. Spring, 50s to 70s. DANISH COCKSFOOT. Market firm. London quotations are 100b per cwt c.i.f. WOOLWool sales closed October 9th. Demand fell off during last week and value of most descriptions declined, but opening prices for N.Z. crossbred greasy generally maintained. Slipo and scoured easier. From total offerings of 197,000 bales 160,000 sold. Average closing rates:—6o-64's (merino), 2s 6d to 3s 2d; 56' a (super halfbred), 2b 7d to 2s US; 48's (fine crossbred), Is lOd to 2s Id; 4446' a (medium crossbred), Is 8d to Is 10d; 36-40's (coarse crossbred), Is 6d to Is Bd.
