THE SHOW RALLY. , A conference of Scouters was held at the Y.M.C.A. last night to further consider, amongst other matters, details connected rtvith. fio demonstration of Scout work at tbo Metropolitan Show. There wero present— K.. L. i)yer, Jjistrict Cubmaater (in tho ch.ait), Messrs \V. R. Tooth, K.S.M., S. Pcjoro, S.M., G. M. Gee, S.M., T. J. Porterfield, S.M., A. R. "Williams, 5.M.., T. E. Turner, A.S.M., K. L-. Sullivan, A.S.M-., S. Ook, S.M., and J. C. Carter, CM. Apo.'ogics were received from Messrs ¥. E. Olds, IJ.S.M., F. J. L. .Scott, S.M., C. Hyde, S.M., and E. Osmcrs, S.M. It was reported that tho first Gilwell training camp for Scouters would open near Christchureh on December 27th. A parade would be, held on October ISth of all Christchureh Boy Scouts ta bid farewell to his Excellency tho Governor-General, Lord Jellicoe, the Dominion Chief Scout. Troops wero asktd to provide 1& boys to act as patients at St. John Ambulance Asocciation's com;->ctitions on October -Ith. It was decided that if three reliable persons could bo obtained to take charge of a camp at Christinas, a combined patrol camp would bo held. This arrangement had to bo made to compensate Scouts who were disappointed at being deprived of their annual c3mps through the officers attending tho Gilw-all training camp. A remit was pasacd asking the local executive to consider arranging a social gathering of Scout workers of tho AssociaTho chairman read over tho detailed proTammo oi the Show night rally. All reports showed that every one was working to make tho rally a big success. It was decided to assemble in the city and anarch to the grounds. . Scouters were requested to ask their troops to support an appeal ior the British and Sailers' Society Fund, the proceeds of the {o be handed to his Excellency Lord Jellicoe when be insneets the foons. The Christchureh Scouters arc supporting the New Zealand Scouters' training course wholeheartedly. District Cubmaster Dyer has received notice that he has finished part one of the course, and is the first New Zealand Scc-utcr to do so. Mr E E- Olds, D.S.M.. who has been spendin" a holidav with his wife and family at Port Chalmers, will return* to Christchurch on Friday.
