METHVEN CLUB. The annual meeting or the Keth-rcn Cricket Club was held on Monday evening-, when M»- H. Green presided over a !arg?> Ettendince of members. Several apologies for absence were received. The following new members were elected— E. C. McGregor, G. McDonald, F. Poff, and D. Jvcdprerwocd. The chairman read a report of the club for the past season. The report was considered satisfactory. The club had been represented in the match between the X.S.W. eleven and Ashburton Conocly by three of their members—E. D. Burns, 11. Fryer, and W. J. Ower. —and Bums had won the bat given for the most meTit-orio-Js performance.. iu the match. From a financial aspect the club wag not in % very happy position, the credit balance in hand being only 12a 2d. However, there were a number of subscriptions etill to come in, and when these were paid, the position would be more satisfactory.

On the motion of Messrs R. McGregor and F. Anderson, the report and balance-sheet were adopted. The election of officers for the ensuing l year resulted as follows —Patron, the Hon. Sir K. Heaton Hhodes and the Hon. W.\oav.'orthy; president, Mr John "Watson; vice-presidents, I'essra J. T. Mangin, W. C. Battson, ~\7m. Morgun, end C. T. Jto* sep; captain, Mr Hy. Fryer; vice-captain, Mr I). M. Christie; selection committee, captain, vice-captain, and secretary; hon. secietarv, Mr G. Stephen; hon. treasurer, Mr H.' Green; custodian, .Mr E. C. McGregor; committee, Messrs "W. J. Owen, E. C. McGregor, F. Anderson, and W. J. Burrows ; delegates'' to Ashburton County Cricket Association, Messrs R. C. McGregor and 11. Green It was decided, .to enter one senior team in the Studholme, Shield competition. The secretary was instructed to write to the Domain Board asking them to have the turf that was removed' 'from the football club's side line replaced, and also to have the grass on the foctbell and hockey grounds cut. The secretary was instructed to write _to the headmaster of the public 6chool inviting him to nominate two promising boys, for free membership the ciub for the season. Votes of thanks were, passed, to all those who had assisted the club during the past srason. especially those who had placed their oars at the disposal of players, and to the ladies.who had assisted with afternoon teas; also to the retiring honorary secretary, Mr W. J. Owen.

Messrs E. McGregor, \V. J. O.wen, G. Stephen, and Hy. Fryer were appointed an entertainment committee to arrange for a concert in aid of the club funds, and also to arrange for holding a flannel dance.
