LOCAL AND GENERAL. Woolstan Hoardings. Strong protests against the proposal to erect a large advertising hoarding on Ferry road, Woolston, were read by the' City Council last night and held over till the nest meeting. Bating. A plea for rating on capita! values was put forward by the Mayor last night. Garden Notes. Garden Notes are on page 5. Letters to the Editor. Letters to the Editor will be found en page 11. BRITISH AND FOREIGN.
Ireland. Observers expect a reconstruction of the Free State Ministry when the Dail meets. It is also predicted that, unless the Boundary Commission transfers tetrritory from Ulster, the Treaty will be denounced.
Georgia. In an effort to stamp out the revolution, the Soviet authorities have executed 2000 persons of all classes.
The All Blacks. The "Daily Mail" comments on the weakness of the All Blacks' goalkicking, and suggests that, this may mean defeat in important matches.
Separations. "Possibly good polities, but certainly bad economics," is how Mr Frank Hodges, M.P., describes the Dawes settlement, which he violently attacks.
Laboratory Gold. A Japanese scientist claims to have discovered a cheap electrical process for the transmutation of mercury into gold.
Russian Treaty. Mr Asquith had added his voice to those condemning the Kusskn Treaty, and especially the proposed loan. I Items. The question of security is still proving troublesome at Geneva, Padqon may now retire from sculling. Italy and Switzerland have signed an arbitration treaty.
