Ui£> quarterly meeting of the Loyal Volunteer Lodga, Manchester "Cmty Oddfellows ■was held in tho Friendly Societies Hall, Hazeldean road, last week. XG-. Bro. S. Ciook presided over a largo attendance o£ members- A visit was received, from the Irtiyal City of Jforvrich Lodge (1/yitclton district accompanied •by Bros. If.'CarreU and W. T. i'oster, Prov. Grand Master and Pro? Corresponding Secretary respectively of tho Lyttelton. district. Thdre-■ visitors present from city of Cirri church Kiccarton and Vi'mton Lodges. After tbe 1 conclusion of business, tlio aclionmed tor <hc purpose of entertaining the visitors. A musical programme vras earned out- and refreshments were provided. Bio C. ilillington. D.G.M., of Canterbury district, in proposing- the toast of the Loyal (Jit}' of Jvo lge, said that tho visiting lodge was established -in Lvtielton in ISoO immediately after the arrival of the first four ships, ana was therefore the mother lodge -oi the- districts Wrinif in Canterbury.
