RIFLE SHOOTING.

SUMNER-REDCLIFFS CLUB. Tho annual general meeting of the Snm-ncz-EcdclilFs Defence Fufle Club wa.s held last week, Mr C. 21. Roswell presiding over a good attendance of members. A letter was received from the Defence Department, advising that six extra targets would bo brought into use at the IZedciifts range for the use of rifle clubs. It was decided to place on record the club's appreciation of the vaiuaolo work the retiring eccreiary (Mr J. J- Smith), wao is leaving the district. An invitation was, received from tho Area Officer of the Defence Department to tho president and members to attendttiflo Meeting, to be held on the rango on Saturday, '-oth October. Tho invitation was accepted. It was decided to open tie soajson on Labour Day, when a friendly match would bo fired with the newly-formed Railway Defence liiflo Club. , Tho balance-sheet, showing a credit Dalacce of £1 7s, was adopted.
