BECKENHAM BURGESSES' ASSOCIATION.

The monthly meeting of the Beckenham Burgesses' Association was held cn Thursday, Mr A. C. Maxwell presiding over a good attendance. Mr D. Bell was appointed delegate to tho United Burgessas' Association. It waa resolved to communicate with tho City ' Council in the following matters:—(l) Tho presence, of a barb wire fence on the river bank at Eastern terrace near the Tennyson street bridge. (2) Tho slow progress being made with tho Eastern and Western, terrace road making, more particularly in Eastern terrace. (3) That the City Council be requested to approach tho Heathcoie County Council regarding overhanging hedges on the north side of Malcolm avenue, near Colombo etroet, and tho hole in the footpath there. (4) To enquire of the Reserve Committee &3 to removal of the Victoria square band rotunda to Beckenham Park, (o) To ask what is being done to improve the approaches to the Park from Eastern terrace and also the complete lading out of the park.- It was also decided to direct tfy» Council's attention to the state of the path in the park. It was deci<!«l to extend the Sunday inspections of the district by jneeting on October 12th. at tie Park gates at linn.
