EUROPE IN WAR TIME.
Many beautiful slides of placc3 of interest in England and tho Continent of Europe during the period of the Great War were shown by. Mr D. A. Morton at the Y.M.C.A. last night, when he delivered an illustrated lecture entitled ' "Through Europe in War Time." Mr Morton described the various views in an entertaining manner, his lecture be;ng thoroughly appreciated. Commencing with a series of views of Capo Town and Dahar, .lie took his audience on a pictorial tour through various places in iinglaiid and France. Amongst ths slides were several showing Bulford and Sling Camp in summer and winter, the giant kiwi cut out of the solid chalk on the side of the bill at Sling Camp being of particular interest. Many v.ews of Bristol, Bath and places in the Vicinity of these quaiirt English towns were shown, also scenes in Nice, Monte Carlo and Kheims. Regarding tha damage to the famous cathedral at Rbeims, tho lecturer stated that this was done wantonly and wilfully by the Germans after they had captured the city. An interesting sli'do was shown of the trenches dug by French women oh the outskirts of llheims.
