Keen interest in education and fcr some time was a member of tho Auckland Education Board. About, three years ago h© gave up his practice, in Auckland on account of his health and went to California, where he eventually -j°" I U P at Los Angeles. His health, however, continued to f;iil, and his death occurred after an illness, lasting for over a year. Dr. Reekie is survived bv his wife' and five children, all of whom are in California.
