j A BAD PARKING PLACE, j Complaints have reached "Roadster" during the wesk regarding the stoppingplace of the Ilornby 'bus at Sockburn, where it awaits the tram from the city. The 'bus stands in the ceutro of the road in front of some shops, just over the railway crossing and a few. yards on the town side of a curved corner. The complainants have found this practice dangerous, for passengers board the 'bus from either side, and the motorist • i;. often confronted by people coming ■ round the rear of tlia vehicle as he I passes. It is contended that th'e 'bus., j which is often standing on tho road j for several minutes at a time, could be stopped nearer either side of tho road, leaving ihe centre unobstructed for passing traffic. One day rocentlv the two Hornby 'busses were standing in the centre of tho roadway. A motorcyclist who sought to go round them found himself suddenly confronted by ian oncoming car. and lie had to run j up on to the footpath to avoid an ae- ! cident.
