Although the game was very even from start to finish, tfcc standard of v.-a3 not particularly high. The fact tha* "with sides were short-handed, no doubt, accounted fcr neither Bet cf backs showing ar.Ything in the v.'av of good combination. The play on the whole was coniined to tho forwards, and to individual work by the "t>ac::.s. Bova' High School, in the first spell, with the wind behind them, attempted lo cperi up the play, but frequently their parsing broke down owing to pllyere going too fur before transferring. For Bo ye' High School, Merritt, centre, was the best of their rearguard. His handling and kicking- were very creditable, whilst on defence he was a host in himself. Stehv<3l3B. as usual, played a Bound game, but at times he was inclined to go too far on his own. Harper, half-back, wae kept very busy by the attentions <jf Taylor, wmg--for-waid for St. Beda'e, and appeared a little slow in getting, the 'ball away: Bluett, who had replaced , Crawshaw at five-eighths, appeared stranpa to his position, but nevertheless his display wan o. creditable one, Buiton, full.back, did not play up to his usual form, whilst of the win? three-quarters Sullivan was the more impressive. In the loose play Perkins and Sterling were prominent for Boys' High School, whilst Chambers did some very fine work in the tifl-lit. 0« tha whole, however, Boys' High School were outplayed amongst tho forwards, and it: would hava piid them better to havo taade the same more open. Mr C. W. Allard was referee.

St. Andrew's v. Boys' High School B. Although St. Andrew's College were considerably: heavier and faster than Boys' High School .3, th© snatch was very well contested.' Boys' High School B played a fino defensive game, their. tackling being very deadly, whilst, although they did not combine well, individually, thoir backs played. with' great j dish.
