AUGUST MEETING, CONCLUDING DAY,

The New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club's August meeting "will be brought to a conclusion at Addington to-day. The weather does not appear to be at all settled, but with a fine day and a good track the racing should again prove interesting. The principal race oa the card, ihe National Cup, or 1500 fiovs, for horses that havo done 4m 31s for two miles, has drawn a field of thirteen horses, including Onyx, inner of the August Handicap, Snonshoo and Realm, who finished first and second respectively in. the King George Handicap, Great Bingen, who won the Speedway Handicap, and the dual winner, Harry Audubon. The final issue is open. Acron and Realm claim dual engagements, but a trio with possibilities are Great Bingen, Snowshoc, and the improving Harry Audubon. Lady Nan will be making her first appearance at the meeting in the Aldington Handicap, and along with Young Blake and First Fashion should add interest, while Childe Pointer, Don Wild, and Acron are entitled to respect in the Farewell Handicap. There will be a special tram service, and the first race will start at 11.5 a.m. The following is the programme:—
