He said. that Whitbufne was commoniy known as "Kustian Jack,", and he appeared to be a fdrcigncr. Qn Sunday he was under the influence of ,liquor, 'but witness : allowed him to Btayon. .He did not sea him again. until the: Monday evening, when,he.was.informed' that Whitburnc had met with an" accident. » At this stage the Coroner .adjourried the inquest'sine die.'
