Hanmer-Atkinson, P. Acton-Adams, D. G. Wright, and G. H. Grigg; hon. treasurer, Mr E. Hay; auditor, Mr A. McKellar, F.P.A. (NX). Mr J. Deans, president of the Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Forestry League, gave a short address on the value of tree planting, and urging fanners to set aside a proportion of their land for that purpose. Mr Deans was asked several questions, which gave evidence of members'' recognition of the value of tree planting. Votes of thanks were accorded the retiring, president and the secretary, Mr "W. H. Nicholson. The Melbourne police have detained a young mau in ooonexaon. with the Caulfield murder.
