EMPIRE EXHIBITION FELLOWSHIP.

ENCOURAGING THE FAMILY FEELING. (yaoii oub owh cobbespohdbht.) ■ LONDON, July 2. From many parts of the Empire suggestions have come' to the Fellowship of the British Empire Exhibition that some way should be offered to Empire enthusiasts to associate themselves with its work, though they cannot avail themselves of the provision of a season ticket for the Exhibition. It has been decided, therefore, with the approval of the Prince of Wales, . the president, to establish an Associate Branch of the Fellowship, the subscription to which will be ss. Every associate will receive a and a certificate of membership signed by the Prince of Wales. This certificate will reproduce in colour one of the famous incidents of the Empire's history—the visit of Queen Elizabeth to Francis Drake's Golden Hind when it lay at Deptford after voyaging round the world. In the case of associates joining nn the United Kingdom a double ticket of admission to the Exhibition will be also given. The balance of their subscriptions, after expenses have been met, will be devoted to the Scholarship Fund. In the case of those associate overseas, who will have no opportunity of visiting the Exhibition, no tickets, of admission will be issued, but the balance of their subscriptions will go to the Scholarship Fund.

What is aimed at is to increase greatly the ranks of those who will pledge themselves, to encourage a "family feeling" in the Empire. The pledge j that members of the Fellowship give of loyal service to the Empire is clearly taken in a real sense by the majority of members. The Scholarship Trust of the Fellowship has now been forme J (with Lord Asquith, Lord Leigh, ah 3 others as members), and the sum devoted out of its revenue to scholarships is being increased by many voluntary • gifts from Fellows. The formation of an Associate Branch will extend greatly ita recruiting ground, and help to realise the hope of the Prince of "Wales that the Fellowship "will help,to make permanent the wori of Imperial education of the-British Empire Exhibition."
