WATER SUPPLY.
PROPOSED EXTENSIONS. New reticulation {yeas to carry the responsibility special loans proposed to be raised for the extension of the high-pressure water service in the districts affected were define'd by the City Council' last night on the recommendation of the Water Supply Committee, '
The areas defined, with the loans required, .were as follows:

St. "Martin's and Opawa .. 10,600 Papanui .. .. .. 17,100 Spreydon .. .. .. 29,400 Woolston ' .. .. .. 32,550
The loans will be for .a period of 25 years, with interest at .a rate not exceeding 5J per cent, per annum, with a sinking fund of £2 2s per cent. * .
Cr. A. Williams, chairman of the "Water Supply Committee, said the committee proposed shortly to embark on a publicity campaign in support of the water supply extension proposals. The formal notifications required were approved.
